After a long certification process, the Halo Vent Chest Seal has been certified as a Class IIb CE MDR product. The Halo Vent Chest Seals are designed to prevent tension pneumothorax. This durable chest seal with a valve is intuitive to use and features a highly adhesive hydrogel that sticks well to warm, cold, bloody, and soiled skin in both cold and warm weather conditions. The Halo Vent has an oval shape for better adhesion, even on the curves of the chest. A large ‘pull tab’ for repositioning or ‘burping’ is marked with a yellow indicator. Sizing tests have shown that the dimensions of the Halo Vent Chest Seal represent the minimum size for optimal adhesion. The packaging has notches on four sides, is tear and puncture-resistant, and is impermeable to liquids, moisture, or gases. Additionally, the very flexible plastic of the Halo Vent Chest Seal is clear and transparent, allowing the wound to be thoroughly examined in between treatments.
