The Field Stretcher Backrest is a new product that enables pre-hospital (tactical) care for trauma victims to be transported in the anti-Trendelenburg position*. Particularly in cases of skull/brain injury, it is crucial to reduce intracranial pressure. The Field Stretcher Backrest allows a trauma victim to be placed at angles of 0°, 30°, 35°, 40°, and 45° during evacuation. For air transport, the Backrest must be set to 0° during takeoff and landing.
If resuscitation is required during evacuation, the Field Stretcher Backrest can be brought to the 0° position and serves as a firm surface on the stretcher for performing chest compressions.
The Field Stretcher Backrest is a universal system and can be used with various stretchers such as the Nodin Stretcher, the Talon II 90C stretcher, NATO stretcher, T3 Lightweight Assault Litter, etc.
The anti-Trendelenburg position*
*The anti-Trendelenburg position is a position where the head end of a bed is raised while the foot end is lowered, causing the patient's body to lie in a slightly inclined position with the head higher than the heart. This contrasts with the Trendelenburg position, where the head end of the bed is lowered and the foot end is raised, causing the body to lie in an inclined position with the head lower than the heart.
The anti-Trendelenburg position is often used in medical care, particularly during surgical procedures and in the treatment of certain conditions such as respiratory problems, burns, and shock. The position can help reduce the load on the heart and lungs and improve blood circulation, allowing the patient to breathe better and reducing the risk of complications.
